School council 2014/2015
Our School Council is a representative group of students, who have been proposed and elected by their peers, to represent their views and raise issues. Mrs Ellis and Mrs Davies take their ideas to Mrs Thursfield.
Our School Council:
Daniel Duncan, Chole Allen, Orla Finn, Alice Astbury,
Izaak Bellingham, Ayla Kantav, Mariam Ahmed, Olivia Thorpe,
Dylan Tanawasa, Isme Dibble-Chapman, Trisha Elangovan,
Emily Oliver, Joshua Palmer, Olivia Herman
Our School Council can also propose and take forward initiatives and projects on behalf of their peers, and be involved in strategic planning and processes.
Our charities, which the children have decided to support this year, are The City Dogs’ Home, Save the Children and Children with Cancer UK.
The first event was ‘Give a dog a dinner at Christmas’. During the week commencing the 24th November 2014 , the school council asked children and staff to bring to school dog food, toys and blankets. These gifts were given to the City Dogs’ Home.
Our second event was held on the 12th December 2014 and was in support of Save the Children. This is a campaign, which you may have seen advertised on the television. The children donated some money and wore a Christmas jumper to school.
Our final fundraising for this academic year will take place in the summer term and will be supporting the charity, Children with Cancer UK. Keep watching this space for further details!
